So You Wanna Be A Dj? part 38: Full circle

April 22nd, 2012

I know it’s been a while since my last blog,so let me get caught up and say hello to you on a more personal level that involves more than 140 characters on twitter.

I don’t really know why but I felt an old calling,I guess it started with an interview on KOOLLONDON with DJ Maddness, but I started to really miss home. Then I suddenly got a call from my London Agent Tania at UMC saying was I available to tour in the winter? Still working it all out but I hope it happens. Then I got some incredible vocals and found my self producing what you all knew me for Ragga Jungle,Jump up,classic shit, you know what I mean,in that style that only us ‘oldies’ know how to do ha ha. I wanted to see if I still had it,and I am a better producer now anyway so I thought why not,it can’t be worse that I was before,as I have grown as a producer since the last time I made that style of music-12 years ago. I am really happy with the result, but you can judge it for yourself soon enough….I will  be getting it to you all shortly. I guess if this tour happens I want to come back with a bunch of music as well,so could it be I have come full circle? That would be cool.

I see you all being so positive when I started to talk about this, I did not know so many of you still cared about this music and even remembered me. Its all about the new DJ/PRODUCERS -NEW TRENDS- and I get that, after all I had my shot too.I was new once lol.My journey has had so many ups and downs, alot of times people wonder why I left, but I always think no one leaves when things are good, there is always a reason. The main thing is how you come back, you come back large if you can.We will see.Whatever happens I am open to the idea because it seems the time is right for this….before,if I am honest,it just get to a point where you say ‘the universe is done with me’ Time to do something new,you stop getting work, everyone wants the new, and I am amazed I have lasted this long!!!! Life has a way of throwing you a curve ball, you try new things being the artiste I am I have to in order to stop my spirit from growing stale.

Luckily, acting has brought me back to life. When I was lost and thought what on earth can I do now,I have only done music all my life,it was acting that got me back in the studio, you see it was all business before, but now I am making it for the fun of it,that’s probably why I am making the best music I have ever made. I am writing songs for many artiste now,There are about 5 tracks that are due out (Stan walker Australian idol winner-) my last record went gold about to go platinum, and no one even know I wrote it but that’s so cool to see him sing my lyrics and make it their own. Then there is the track I did with Tydi which I fell in love with, writing is so much fun and really creative when you collab with others, this was my first collab in the trance world since BT-and to be honest letting them do all the hard work and tour when you get to stay at home is fun-though I do miss the road sometimes,I know I will see it again. There are Tv shows in the works, who knows what will happen, but it is a world of possibilities, that I know.

I am in school 4 days a week studying the craft of acting and in audition mode.I feel like finally I can juggle the many hats I wear and enjoy it as there is no pressure only to learn and go with the flow.So I make music when it calls, and boy,is it calling!!!!

I moved in with my boyfriend of nearly 2 years and sadly that did not work out though we remain the best of friends and collaborators.I am about to find a new place to live and though it is hard to start over,(my heart is still raw) you have to imagine greater things or you stay where you are.I always have had a great imagination, sometimes too much!

I know the labels have been quiet and we will see what happens, its was so much work for so little that I am not sure if I will wake them for a while,my music is coming out on bigger labels anyway, but you never know.As for the streaming shows, when I get my new place I will do them again. You just have to show up.

So now you are all caught up,keep posting on your promoters social sites that you want to see me in England and we can make this happen, thank you all so much for all your love and support!
